Technology Assessment and Strategy

The business has moved. Has the technology plan kept up?

Technology Assessment and Strategy gives leaders an evidence based view of their technology estate, its business risks and the next investment choices. I connect systems, workflows, suppliers and spending to the business capabilities you need.

01

A budget discussion needs more than an application list

Costs may be rising while people still move information between systems by hand. A supplier may be critical without anyone owning the relationship. A planned expansion may depend on capabilities the current estate cannot support.

I start with the work the business needs to do. Then I examine where the technology supports it, where it creates risk and which choices deserve leadership attention. The result is a sequenced plan with owners, budget ranges and explicit trade offs.

02

When an independent view helps

Lite fits a growing business that needs a reliable current picture and a practical plan before spending more. Full fits a larger turning point, such as an acquisition, funding round, expansion or a new technology leader who needs an agreed direction.

The scope is internal business technology. Product and engineering strategy for what the company sells is a separate question.

03

Choose the depth your decision needs

Lite: assessment and a 12 month roadmap

Four weeks. ₹5,00,000, excluding applicable goods and services tax (GST).

The scope covers one business unit in one country, up to 15 core applications, the top 20 suppliers by spend and two core workflows. I speak with up to eight people across functions and review the evidence made available.

The seven outputs are a technology assessment, security evidence and gap review, workflow and systems map, spend and supplier review, risk register, a 12 month roadmap and a leadership readout. The roadmap carries quarterly budget ranges and decision notes on the two largest choices.

Full: assessment through to strategy

Six weeks. ₹14,50,000, excluding applicable GST.

Full covers the same business boundary with up to 25 core applications, 12 interviews, about 40 documents and two leadership workshops. It adds a business capability and alignment map, conceptual target architecture, technology operating model, a three year investment case and a roadmap with decision gates.

You receive nine deliverables, ending in a board narrative and executive walkthrough. Investment figures are planning estimates, rather than supplier quotations. Detailed solution design and procurement need separate work.

04

How the work becomes a plan people can use

We agree the business priorities and decision criteria before debating platforms. I examine documents and guided demonstrations, follow two workflows across teams and test the emerging picture with the people who run them.

The workshops put options in front of leadership: what to retain, improve, replace or defer, and the consequences of each choice. The operating model makes ownership and governance explicit. A strategy imposed from outside can be rejected by the organisation that has to carry it. I build the choices with the leaders who will own them.

05

What the security review does

The package includes an evidence and gap review against the 56 safeguards in Implementation Group 1 of the Center for Internet Security Controls (CIS IG1), as specified in the package. I examine the documents and demonstrations available and prioritise the gaps.

This is an advisory review of evidence. It does not include penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, independent technical testing or certification. Legal and regulatory compliance opinions sit outside the scope.

06

Questions to settle before starting

Will you select vendors or implement changes?

No implementation, migration, system configuration or procurement is included. The roadmap helps you decide what to commission next. Vendor selection and detailed design can be scoped separately where appropriate.

What access do you need?

The starting material includes application and supplier lists, spend records, process documents and available architecture and security evidence. Systems can be reviewed through guided screen share. Client logins are not required.

Who leads the work?

I do. My background includes enterprise technology leadership at AWS, Deloitte and KPMG. That experience informs the questions I ask; it is not presented as a JRDN client outcome. Read my background.
